The EURO is accepted everywhere on the island but the official currency is the EC $ (East Caribbean Dollar.)
1 euro is equivalent to between EC$3.30 and EC$3.70. This is the most suitable currency to use for daily shopping for items such as fruit, vegetables and fish.
You can visit this website to find out the current exchange rate: https://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/
You will find it difficult to obtain EC$ in Europe and we don't recommend bringing US dollars either. However, there is a Bureau de Change at Lamentin airport in Martinique and there are also cashpoints (ATMs) in the Grenadines (Béquia, Union and Saint Vincent) and in Sainte-Lucie (Rodney Bay and Marigot Bay).
