The Grenadine islands are better known than the island of Saint Vincent, but it is well worth stopping over here during a cruise.

There are several accessible anchorage points, well sheltered by the hills of the island, all along the coast on the leeward side.

The charms of Saint Vincent are, however, better discovered on the island itself.

There are tremendous views from the Soufrière volcano to the north, even though there is a fairly rigourous walk required to get there!

There are numerous possibilities of organised walks through the lush tropical forest from moorings at Cumberland Bay and Wallilabou Bay, with a refreshing swim in fresh water along the way.

Further to the south there is the capital, Kingstown, with its bright colours and lively atmosphere, where you can visit the oldest botanical gardens in The Caribbean.
